Our transfer will visit you at your hotel between 08:00a.m. and 08:30a.m. approximately, to move you to the starting place and start this tour to the south valley of Cusco. We will make a 40 minute trip to the southwest until we reach Tipón, which is part of the Qapac Ñan route, then we will go to Pikillaqtaconsiderada , which is one of the most famous and best preserved cities of the pre-Inca world in Peru. We will end up in the town of Andahuaylillas where we can observe its Sistine Chapel of America with its impressive works of art. Finally we return to the City of Cusco where our tour ends at approximately 13:00p.m.
Our transfer will visit you at your hotel between 08:00a.m. and 08:30a.m. approximately to move you to the place where the tour begins. We will make a trip of 40 minutes to the southwest of the city of Cusco. We will start visiting TIPON which is part of the route of Qapaq Ñan and is located 25 km from the city of Cusco; Tipon is a set of agricultural terraces, long stairs and canals carved in stone, its thirteen terraces are surrounded by polished stone walls perfectly.
The main attractions that Tipon has are the royal precincts, the Intihuatana also known as the altar of the sun, the “mirador” (viewpoint) or Cruzmoqo that is located in a strategic place from where you can appreciate or visualize the city of Cusco, the minor enclosures and the wall which was built in order to protect the invasions of hostile peoples. Then we will go to PIKILLACTA which is located 30 km southwest of the city of Cusco, Pikillacta is known today as one of the most famous and best preserved cities of the pre-Inca period in Peru and has an area of 50 hectares approximately. The word PIKILLACTA comes from two Quechua word PIKI (flea or small) LLACTA (town) and its translation could be Town of Fleas or Small Town. In Pikillacta we can appreciate stone walls of pre-Inca origin and one of the most important cities of the Wari culture. Finally we will get to know ANDAHUAYLILLAS, located 36 kilometers from the city of Cusco. Andahuaylillas is part of the Andean Baroque Route and its incredible Chapel better known as the Sistine Chapel of America due to its beautiful woodwork, beautiful paintings and colonial decorations.
We return to the city of Cusco where our tour ends at 1:00p.m. approximately, close to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, ending this tour to the South Valley of Cusco.
TIPON:
This beautiful set of agricultural terraces, long stairways and channels carved in stone, is located approximately 20 km. southwest of the city of Cusco. According to legends, Tipon is one of the royal gardens built by Wiracocha.
It consists of twelve terraces flanked by stone walls perfectly polished and huge platform, these are quite large and the further up, shrink, plus channels and ornamental waterfalls.
PIKILLACTA:
It is considered today as one of the most famous and best preserved cities in the world PRE-Inca in Peru. It is located 30 km.
Southeast of Cusco. It was built during the height of the Wari culture 500 or 900 years A.D.
This great urban and ceremonial center of almost 2 km. Long, consists of a citadel surrounded by terraces and walls up to 7 meters high.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS:
We will discover Andahuaylillas and its Church which is considered a work of art because of its rich colonial paintings and decorations is a visit not to be missed, ending in this way the south valley of Cusco tour of half day.
