When you hike the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu you will see impressive Inca ruins, expansive mountain views, lush subtropical vegetation and extraordinary ecological varieties. The “Ancient Inca Road” goes through the National Park and enters through the Sun Gate with unforgettable views of Machu Picchu! We will pass through cloud forests and finally into subtropical vegetation. People hiking the short Inca Trail Trek will have the privilege of seeing the famous Machu Picchu Citadel in the afternoon on the first day and also visiting it the next morning! This trek was designed for those with little travel time who would like to experience a part of the Historic Inca Trail.o.
DAY 1 Sacred Valley with Maras Moray
- 6:30 am – It begins with the pick up from the hotel to go to our first destination “chinchero” where we will visit the archaeological part and the colonial temple.
- Continuing we will visit the agricultural laboratory of Moray where we will find agricultural terraces, we will also visit the salt ponds “Salineras” that are exploited since the period of the Incas.
- Then we will go to the town of Urubamba where we will have free time to enjoy an Andean buffet lunch.
- After the time we will go to the town of Ollantaytambo where we will visit the archaeological part, in this town the train
- terminal is also located where some travelers will stay to take their train to Aguas Calientes.
- Continuing with our trip, our last visit will be the archaeological center of Pisac where we will find a large number of Andean terraces and the most preserved Andean cemetery of Andean culture.
- 7:00 pm – We will return to Cusco.
